Abstract

The present article deals with ethical aspects related to scientific research involving human beings as subjects of experimentation. The topic is addressed with the goal of establishing the main perspectives in ethical monitoring of research developed by occupational therapy discipline, particularly those taking place by our academic responsibility; that is, studies carried out during seminars related to obtaining the Occupational Therapy degree. The basic scheme of this article consists in: giving historical data, like paradigmatic cases related to ethical issues in research involving human beings; identifying the main ethical values of scientific studies; finding the ways subjects participate in the studies; giving the profile of occupational therapy studies; and providing the necessary basic requirements for being ethical the studies developed in the seminars related to obtaining the Occupational Therapy degree.
