Abstract

Bullying is harass mentor victimization given by intimidation. This can takes everal forms, such as teasing, active exclusion of a social
group or physical or psychological aggression. Objective: To determine the prevalence and risk factors for becoming a victim of
bullying in school children from 8 to 12 years of public school. Materials and Methods: This study was conducted between March
and July 2013, a sample of 101 children between 8 and 12 years was taken. Results: It was found that the prevalence of being a victim
of bullying is about 30%, while the main factors related to this development was being female and being older in relation to their
age. however, the relationship could be established with human occupation from the interaction, participation and management of
interpersonal relationships, what since occupational therapy could be managed from the contexts, occupational participation and
interpersonal relationships that influence the interaction with family, school and social context. Conclusions: Bullying is a scourge
hat is growing in occupational performance alteration becoming a social problem, presenting, since occupational therapy could be
managed from the contexts, occupational participation and interpersonal relationships that influence the interaction with family, school
and social context a high prevalence, indicated the need for timely intervention from Occupational Therapy, as a tool for prevention of
psychosocial risk or deterioration in the school occupational performance role.
