Authors

Abstract

Introduction: In the evaluation processes of people with Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD), information about occupational performance in activities of daily living is strategic, from the perspective of comprehensiveness in health care. Objective: To describe assessment instruments used in the identification of indicative signs or diagnosis of DCD in children and adolescents. Method: an integrative literature review aimed to analyze the scientific production of the last 10 years in the Scielo database. Results: The sample, consisting of 13 articles, performed a critical analysis of eight instruments that assess and identify problems in the motor skills of children and adolescents. All instruments found are described with emphasis on the mABC and the DCDQ, which are presented more frequently and are considered the gold standard for the diagnosis of DCD. Conclusion: It is concluded that the instruments used follow the criteria proposed by the American Psychological Association and that the authors have chosen to use or develop standardized, validated instruments, with a view to safely identifying signs indicative of BDD in children and adolescents.
